It's a Come as You Are Party!

When I was growing up, we had "Come as You Are" parties.

Basically, you got a phone call inviting you to the party but you had to promise to come wearing what you had on at that moment.

The idea is to catch someone in their pajamas, curlers (yes, we had curlers!) or maybe (blush blush) in the shower.

Did you know that today, and every day, you are invited to a "Come as You Are" party?

The Universe is hosting it and all you have to do is show up.

Bring your goals, dreams, and hopes and have fun!

Life really is a party.

Losing Sleep?

Are you losing sleep worrying about all the things that are wrong with your life?

No need to do that.

Your destiny is secure in the Universe.

You will writing an amazing, fabulous, and totally terrific life story.

Instead of losing sleep worrying, close your eyes and imagine your fantastic future.

Sweet dreams.

Supermoon Lunar Eclipse

Did you see it?

I did and I didn't.

There were a lot of clouds last night and I had to keep watching for a quick glimpse when the clouds parted.

But I  was also able to 'see' the eclipse with a live feed from a couple websites.

So, I may not have seen the eclipse in person but I did see it through a camera's lens online.

What does this have to do with writing your life story?

Everything!

Even though I put myself in the exact spot to see the eclipse, I couldn't because of the clouds.

But the moon was still there, glowing red.

When you are seeking to accomplish your goals and dreams, you may feel that you have done everything right but it's still not happening. Or is it?

Maybe your vision is 'clouded' and you can't see things with the right perspective.

Your destiny is as solid and secure in the Universe as the supermoon lunar eclipse.

Even if you can't see it now...

Bean Counters

A bean counter is someone who nitpicks numbers and is overly concerned with controlling expenses.

But that's not how the phrase started.

Bean counters were really...um...bean counters. In the 19th century, when beans were sold, someone had to actually count how many went into a bag. Now, of course, this process is done by machines.

Although the term 'bean counter' has some negativity surrounding it, the idea of counting out each bean to ensure accuracy is commendable.

How about if we take that idea into the process of writing your life story?

Are you counting out-- and enjoying-- each moment of your life and adding it to your life story?

Every minute is adding up to your destiny; make the most of them.

Rats, Mice, and Cockroaches! Oh My!

What do rats, mice, and cockroaches have in common?

They are all writing their life stories successfully.

Rats, mice, and cockroaches are very skilled at staying alive and having a lot of young.

But that's their destiny.

If you have ever had the unfortunate experience of having one of these creatures invade your home, you will know how difficult it is to get rid of them.

That's because they all share another very important characteristic: they make the most of every opportunity.

They will find food, shelter, and safety anywhere they can, simply because they can.

Even though rats, mice, and cockroaches may not be on your list of best household guests, at least give them credit for living their destinies.

As we all should do.

Is Change Always for the Best?

Most of us don't like things to change.

But they do change.

Is change always for the best? The short answer is yes, even though the process of change may be unpleasant or even painful.

You are destined for happiness and success, so any changes that come into your life are designed to move you in that direction.

You may not know how or when, but trust that the changes are for your own good.

Want some inspiration from David Bowie? He sang:

Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes
Turn and face the strange

(Listen to the whole song here)

Accept what comes into your life and know that it's all good.

Making Up Rules

What kind of rules do you make up for your life?

Do you believe that you have to work at a hard, boring job just to make ends meet?

Do you think that you must experience a certain amount of sadness and suffering before you can succeed?

Do you feel that you must distance yourself from other people because they cannot be trusted?

Those are sad rules.

Here's a better rule:

Live each day in joy, expecting the best and being confident that you are a unique individual destined to succeed.

That's a rule you can trust.

The Million-Dollar Difference

How would your life change if you had a million dollars?

Most people would quit their jobs, go on a vacation, and buy expensive things, like cars or jewelry.

But once the excitement of having all that money dies down, you would get back to writing your life story.

You were born for a purpose, and regardless of your finances, you will achieve it.

You may have a million dollars, but you only have one destiny.

Spend it wisely.

Energy-Saving Tips

I'm sure you shut off the lights in a room when you leave and turn off appliances when they're not in use.

We're all very aware of energy and we don't want to waste it.

But what about the energy you're using to write your life story? Are you guarding that as well?

Are you using only positive energy to move yourself forward toward your goals and dreams?

Or are you wasting energy by complaining about your situation?

They don't call it negative energy for nothing; this type of energy actually drains you.

Guard your life energy; that's the stuff that will lead you into success, joy, and peace.

If you hear yourself complaining, turn that emotion off, just like you would do with an appliance.

Use your energy wisely and give your life story a jolt of the good stuff.

Trust in Yourself

It really is all about you when you are writing your life story.

So, why then, are you worried about external circumstances to create a life of abundance and joy?

Be like the bird who doesn't trust in the strength of the branch but in the wonder of her wings.

The only thing that can stop your forward progression into a future of fulfilled goals and dreams is you.

Keep your mind and your thoughts on what you want to accomplish.

Envision your life as you want it to be.

You-- and only you-- are in the starring role in your life story.

Trust in yourself.

Talking and Walking

You've heard the expression:

Don't just talk the talk; walk the walk.

But that's hard to do, you say.

It is, if you are not doing this one simple step first:

Think your walk.

Every action that we do first originates in the mind, not the mouth.

So if you are just talking about achieving your dreams and goals, and not actually thinking about accomplishing them, success may be just out of your reach.

Talking and walking is good, but thinking must come first.

Our minds help us 'see' where to walk...and how to write our life stories.

24/7

We are surrounded by numbers.

24 hours in a day.

7 days a week.

60 minutes in an hour.

365 days in a year.

But there is only one number that counts.

And that's the number 'one.'

You have 1 life to live.

You will write 1 amazing life story.

You are 1 person who was born into this world for a unique and powerful purpose.

Write your life story; it's already a #1 best-seller in your life.

Tips for a Great Trip

Do you have plans to travel?

Are you making a list of things to take with you?

Those items could be commonplace things like a toothbrush or a hairbrush, but you understand the importance of having them with you.

Do you realize that every day you are travelling? Maybe not to some exotic getaway, but you are moving closer to the full realization of achieving your goals and dreams.

What are you taking with you?

Enthusiasm?

Motivation?

Confidence?

Hope?

Don't leave home without them.

Write your life story, wherever you are.

Birthdays!

Today is my birthday.

No, I am not shamelessly looking for birthday wishes and presents.

Instead, I make mention of my special day to remind all of you about your special day as well.

In a certain month, date, and year, you entered this world.

And you came with a purpose.

You were gifted with talents that would impact the lives of people around you.

Yes, on your 'birth day,' you brought presents; gifts you would give to the world.

But the best part is that you can give your 'birth day' gifts every day.

Go do it.

That's my plan.

Stolen Identity

If someone were to steal your identity, would they be able to write your life story too?

Would they live your destiny of abundance, success, and joy?

Something to think about...

If a Tree Falls...

You have heard the question:

If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around, does it make a sound?

But here's my question of the day:

Why is the tree falling?

Is it because of high winds like in a hurricane or perhaps the root system has been destroyed by insects or disease?

Because trees don't fall without a reason.

If you are not writing your life story (that means living in success, joy, and abundance) there is a reason.

And the best way to uncover that reason is by quiet introspection.

If a tree falls in the forest and no one is around, it does not make a sound because no one is there is hear it.

To learn why you are not writing your life story, you need to listen.

Your life will reveal what needs to be done when you truly want to know.

Tragedy or Triumph: It's Your Choice

We can focus on the negative or the positive.

That's our choice.

But the outcome of our thinking will reflect what's in our minds. Negative thoughts produce a life full of sadness, trouble, and unfulfilled hopes.

Positive thoughts produce the opposite.

Maybe you're reading this and thinking:

Sure, this sounds good, but my life is filled with severe health challenges, or I am being repressed by society or persecuted by  evil people.

So were these people and look what they did with their lives:

Helen Keller was born with the ability to see and hear, but after a childhood illness she could do neither. Despite that, she learned to read and write and got a bachelor's degree.

Marie Curie lived at a time when few women became educated. But she became one of the most important scientists of her generation.

Pope John Paul II lived through the Nazi occupation of his homeland, Poland, but became the Pope and had one of the most influential papacies in history.

Don't look at the problems; see the possibilities.

How Much Do You Need?

What do you need to be happy and successful?

Money?

Time?

Education?

Here's a tip that is priceless:

Stop looking at what you don't have and use what you do have.

You may be very surprised.

Write your life story because you can and should.

Neuroplasticity: Your New Best Friend

The concept of neuroplasticity will change the way you think--literally.

Scientific research reveals the adaptability of our brains and this article will tell you a lot more about that.

Neuroplasticity Redefines Our Understanding of the Brain

The neurons in the brain actually change and evolve in response to a variety of stimuli, from thoughts to illness and injury.

But the part of the article that made me sit up and take notice was this quote:

"Imagination itself can produce brain changes. Be careful what you think, because the mere act of thinking about an action has been shown to produce the same brain changes as actually performing it."

That's exactly what I have been saying in this blog.

Our thoughts change our lives.

Think how you want to live.

Tell your brain who's the boss.

Something Else to Remember

Today is 9/11-- the day we remember the terrorist attack on the United States. Two planes were hijacked and crashed into the North and South towers of the World Trade Center in New York City.

Today we will remember those people who lost their lives.

But don't forget that you are alive-- today-- for a reason. You have a destiny to fulfill.

Begin by adding love, kindness, goodness, and compassion to the world-- especially today.

Live in hope and encourage others to do the same.

That's a tribute that will truly honor life.

How to Improve the World

Are you tired of being around angry, bitter people?

Are you disillusioned with a world that only seems to cause hurt and pain?

You can fix these things.

The way to improve the people and the world around you is by changing yourself.

Be the change you want to see.

Be kind, loving, generous, and honest.

Look to help other people when you can.

See the spark of the Divine in every person you meet.

You change the world.

Go do it.

The One Thing That Will Stop You

There is really only one thing that will stop you from writing your life story.

Fear.

Fear of the unknown.

Fear of failure.

Fear of of the future.

And so on...

Conquer fear by moving forward.

Fear paralyzes.

Let it go and it will release you.

Remember When?

Remember when you were a child and people would ask what you want to be when you grow up?

You always had an answer, didn't you?

In fact, I bet you could actually 'see' yourself in that career, being completely happy and successful.

Are you living your childhood dream?

Or have you taken your mind off it and filled your thoughts with all the reasons why you can't have that dream?

Children don't see the negatives.

They have hope.

The child you once were is still alive in you and is waiting to realize all those dreams.

Think like that child again and become the adult you were meant to be.

Living Like a Refugee

Right now, in Europe, Syrian refugees are looking for a place to live.

Here's an understatement:

It's not easy living like a refugee.

The dictionary definition of a refugee is a person who has been forced to leave their country in order to escape war, persecution, or natural disaster.

But the image that forms in my mind when I hear the word 'refugee' is a person determined to live despite overwhelming obstacles.

I wish life and success to refugees all over the world today.

And I pledge to live my own life, and write my life story, with the same type of determination they have.

Open the Blinds!

Good morning!

When you wake up, do you open the blinds or pull up the shades to let in the new day?

Yes, we all know that today is a 'present', but it's also another opportunity for you to write your life story.

When you open the blinds to let in the new day, welcome all that this day offers you.

It's been waiting for you.

All you have to do is see it.

But What If I Make a Mistake?

Everyone wants to be happy and successful but what if you make a bad choice?

Does everything fall apart?

Is there any way to fix things?

First of all, relax.

Think about all the ways life is set up to accommodate mistakes.

You have a delete key.

There are U-turns on the highway.

Pencils have erasers.

Do you think that the Universe hasn't created a way for you to succeed beyond a mistake?

Really?

If you make a mistake, look for that U-turn or delete key.

It will show up in some form.

And then get back on track and write your life story. It's all good.

Credit Cards

Credit cards are great, aren't they?

You go to a store or restaurant, and to pay, all you need to do is show your card and sign your name.

A credit card gives you instant access to whatever you want.

There's an even better way to get everything you want, and without the high interest rates of credit card companies.

It's called: relying on yourself and your unique place in the Universe.

This may seem difficult because we usually think of ourselves as too inferior or lacking in important skills or education.

Next time you feel that way, think of your credit card.

If a piece of plastic can get you what you want, imagine what would happen if you confidently charge into the world armed with the full resources of the Universe.

Hmmm... nothing is going to stop you.

That's called writing your life story.

When Things Fall Apart

When things seem to fall apart, they may actually be coming together in a new and improved way.

We don't always see the big picture, so don't get discouraged when things don't seem 'right.'

This may just be the process of getting rid of the 'wrong.'

Wait.

Watch.

Write your life story.

That will always be the 'right' option for you.

Be the Boss

The boss is in charge, makes decisions about what needs to be done every day, and plans for the future.

You're the boss when writing your life story.

Take charge and go get your goals.

You're the only one to do it and you have the resources of the entire Universe at your disposal.

That's even better than being the CEO of some Fortune 500 company, isn't it?

Got Free Time?

Time is the new wealth.

People who have a lot of free time seem happier and more successful, don't they?

What exactly is the definition of free time?

...a time when you are not required to work; a time set aside for relaxation and leisure...

But think for a moment about the larger idea of free time.

Every day is free. Every hour is free.

Time is given to you each and every day.

Freely.

You are given time to live your dreams, fulfill your goals, and be successful and happy.

It's time to write your life story.
